The Establishment of MPWAPWA TTC

Mpwapwa Teachers' College is one of the oldest teacher training colleges in Tanzania with a long history of providing Teacher Education.

• The college was first established in 1892 during the German colonial administration.
• It was later moved to Dar es Salaam in 1920 during British rule. .
• In 1926, it was transferred to Mpwapwa, where it remains today.
• The college has played an important role in training teachers in Tanzania for more than a century.
• It offers Teacher Education Programs, In Special Needs Education. The college is owned and managed by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

Mpwapwa Teachers' College has made a significant contribution to the history of education in Tanzania by producing many qualified teachers who serve in schools across the country.
